so many wonderful things have happened this passed weekend, i cannot even begin to name them. the people who participated this year have all been so amazing.

not having slept the last so many hours, i am quite tired. but it was totally worth it.

it’s so cloudy here, but i happened to be outside, saying bye bye to some guests, when all of the sudden, i saw the moon starting to rise up and i screamed “there’s the moon!”

everyone stopped and looked at me, as if i were insane (can always claim full moon insanity), but i just yelled for my sister to come out and see the moon, too. and then i called my boyfriend to tell him to see the moon.

ten minutes later, the moon was behind the clouds. but i did get to see it!

it has been cloudy for days here. and seriously, this is one in a… 20 year kinda thing. i know, moon is sometimes bigger, but this is as big as it gets, and last time it happened in 1993, i was only 4 and too young to remember.

if i see it, i will photograph it and write about it. i promise

you should see it. right now, streets of podgorica are covered, and i mean covered with women and men standing behind flower/make-up/perfume etc stands selling these things to people of montenegro to give to their wives/girlfriends/mothers/sisters this international women’s day.

the other 363 days in a year, men in montenegro are treating women as a… second class citizen? i am maybe taking this a little out of proportions, but this is my blog and i can do whatever i want (i am a 12 foot one eyed one horn flying purple people eater lol)

okay, joking aside, it’s still complete ignorance these men are giving these women flowers for international women’s day.

hello my dear readers,

happy Valentine’s day. i have to say, not my favorite holiday (how could you ever have anything better than Halloween?!), but i don’t hate it. i used to. or i used to pretend to hate it. one time, i tried to break up with a guy on vday. i do think he figured it out and then stood me up. darn it. but at least i had all my black clothes and make up on that day.

now remembering it, that was so long ago. i was like… 16. that seems so weird. it’s a part of my “pre-america” life, so i sometimes say how i do not admit i did certain things… like dating that particular guy. ew. no wonder i wanted to break up on vday.

funny how that works.

however, this valentine’s day is the third one i am “celebrating” with the love of my life. i did just develop a cold, so i am not sure how that is going to work, being that i am planning on spending most of the day in bed getting rid of the said cold.

we don’t need valentine’s days, though. at the risk of sounding pathetic – brian and i do not need a holiday to “celebrate” our love toward each other.

it is so funny remembering the days when wearing or not wearing the color red determined to others whether you are in love or not.

but, this is a love holiday. you don’t have to get a million cards, a stuffed toy animals or who-knows-what to be happy this valentine’s day. you don’t even have to be in love. it’s just one day of the year, and as you would with every other day – make the best of it.

and remember, i always love you.

I have recently watched Avatar: the Last Airbender series (several times, over and over) and I must tell you, it is incredible. I will not get into the plot of the series, but it has it all: kids with superpowers saving the world from an evil fire lord and his massive war plan. Of course, that isn’t all there is to it. It is funny, cute, full of love

Now, I have started watching this series after I saw the Last Airbender – Movie. Movie was okay when I watched it before the series, but as soon as I started watching the series the movie begun to suck more and more. I mean, what is up with that. It’s like the entire life from a really fun cartoon has been removed to make this dark movie.

Seriously.

And I have a crush on the main character, Aang. He is a 12 or technically a 112 year old person. And he is the Avatar. (when i say Avatar, I don’t mean blue-aliens-pocahontas-rip-off)

I know, I know, he does sorta look like a goofy kid. However, here…

I bet some of you can see from this image, why I have a crush on a super powerful Avatar. Who is also goofy and funny.

Some of my friends (that I got hooked on the show) prefer Prince Zuko, a fire nation prince. Basically, evil most of the show

I have a feeling I am rambling on.

let me make it more clear: not a very good one.

i cannot wait to wrap it up and get the hell out of there. but, as every good montenegrin girl, i have a wide variety of people in my life who are quite sure they know what i want, need, must have etc.

“you know, little girl, it is very important you continue your studies here, all your friends will”, is just one of the lines i am bound to hear quite frequently.

one: i am not that little anymore. i am 21, will be a college graduate by the end of summer.

two: i have no interest in studying in montenegro. (i’ve written about it before and i probably will again, so to sum it up: it sucks)

three: i don’t care all my friends are doing it. peer pressure represents nothing to me. if it has, i’d be partying all the time and be listening to turbo folk. which i don’t.

but, again, as a good montenegrin girl i just nod a couple of times, smile and say nothing. i feel no interest in getting into an argument with a rock about something they don’t understand.

i mean, i don’t even think a BA from a college in montenegro will count anywhere in the world. why in the world would i wanna go for more?

e sad, prije dva dana, na jednom od predavanja na mom fakultetu (politickih nauka), odsjek novinarstvo, dva buduca novinara nisu znala da homoseksualnost nije bolest. e, ovdje ima vise od jednog problema.

prvo: ako si novinar, get your facts straight! sta vam je ljudi, ako mislite da razgovarate o necemu, ne mozete da povlacite sve rijeci iz svojih osjecanja, ili nedostatka istog. takodje, stavljanje ovih rijeci u usta nekom doktoru koji je nekad na radiju rekao da je homoseksualnost bolest je takodje argument koji – ne pije vodu. aha. vjerujem ti.

drugo: ni jedna knjiga biologije ne pise o tome da je homoseksualnost bolest. jedine knjige koje to pisu su (a ispravite me ako grijesim) religijske knjige. kako religija nije nauka, nece moci.

trece: na fakultetu si politickih nauka. kako to da nemas ni malo zdravog razuma, nego si upleten u neke dogme iz svoje primarne socijalizacije kad ti je drustvo pricalo sto je dobro a sto lose, i kako treba da se ponasas. dodjavola s tim. mi smo ovdje da ucimo toleranciju. ma, ni to, mi smo ovdje da ucimo, a ne da budemo upleteni u neke dogme. eh.

i navrh svega, uporede homoseksalnost sa alkoholizmom i sklonoscu prema samoubistvu. takodje, svaka vrsta seksa koja nema veze sa pravljenjem beba je neprirodna. cak i izmedju ljudi koji nisu gay. hmmm… takodje culi na radiju. zvuci poznato, mislim da je orvel pisao o tome u jednoj maloj knjizi koja se zvala 1984.

kad sam se malo povratila od soka i napada smijeha, nesto mi je bilo nevjerovatno da neko takvu stvar kaze, i ozbiljno misli, rekla sam: “a sta je sa korektivnim silovanjima. znate, to je ono kad je zena gay, muskarci je siluju, da bi prestala da bude gay. desava se stalno svuda, pogotovo u juznoj africi. ako je to bolest, mora da postoji lijek… je l’ to lijek?”

obije su me gledale kao da sam pala sa marsa. izgleda da nisu cule za tu tehniku. “nije izlecivo, ne treba traziti lijek.” rece jedna. ha, pa ne treba traziti lijek, jer NIJE BOLEST!

prije par dana postavila sam pitanje “interesantna misao. umires jer ti otkazuju bubrezi. gay osoba ti donira bubreg. da li prihvatas ili odlucujes da umres, jer ne zelis gay bubreg?” e, sad, cijela ova stvar je naravno apsurdna, ali posto se mi stavljamo u apsurdne situacije svakodnevno, odlucila sam da ga izbacim, jer nisam ni u najgoroj nocnoj mori sanjala da jedan od odgovora moze biti

“jaci je izbor dva metra ispod, nego zamisao da imam nesto prljavo u sebi…”

prvo sam se nasmijala. da li je moguce da neko misli nesto ovako. na moje sledece pitanje, da li bi ta osoba dopustila da joj clan porodice umre, nije mi odgovorila jasno. iskreno, ne znam sto je napisala, nesto o hormonima i jos neke gluposti.

ispada da ta osoba vise mrzi ljude koje mrzi nego sto voli ljude koje voli, sto znaci da… sami mozete zakljuciti sto to znaci.

ovo je necuveno. iskreno receno, zgrozena sam takvim komentarom i iskreno se nadam da to nije nesto sto bi stvarno uradila. jedna od najtuznijih stvari je sto ja ovu osobu znam nekih cetrnaest godina i nisam znala da gaji toliku mrznju u sebi.

i onda sam ponovo pred velikom moralnom dilemom. za mene licno, nije u redu mrziti ljude koji mrze. pa, ja ih zalim. neko ko osjeca toliku mrznju, nije sposoban za ogromnu ljubav koju ja osjecam svaki dan. prema svojoj porodici, svom decku, svom psu.

i njima sam zahvalna sto mi daju podrsku da se borim sa ovakvim ljudima svakog dana.

Kaze on “biti gay je izbor”. Ha! To je najveca glupost koju sam u zivotu cula. Biti gay je tesko. Posebno u nasem drustvu. Mislim, svi znamo sta se desilo juce. Biti gay znaci kod nas – nemati osnovna ljudska prava, zivjeti u strahu vecinu vremena da ce ti neki primitivni majmun razbiti glavu ciglom, zivjeti u tajnosti, strahu da kazes roditeljima, prijateljima, jer su sanse velike da ce te odbiti i potjerati iz svog zivota. Sad, zasto bi IKO birao to? Recite mi vi, koji mislite da je biti gay izbor… ZBOG cega bi iko birao da zivi u srahu od smrti svakog dana?

Znaci, nije izbor. Sad, ako nije izbor… To znaci da je neko gay od rodjenja. I tu se postavlja ocigledno pitanje. Kad vi zelite da ubijete ovu osobu? Kad zelite da je izbacite iz drustva?

Dok je beba?

Kad napuni 4 godine?

Kad napuni 10 godina?

kad napuni 15 godina?

E sad zamislite da je ova osoba vas najbolji prijatelj. I sa 15 godina kaze vam da je gay. Odrasli ste zajedno. Da li zelite da ubijete svog najboljeg prijatelja. Ja se nadam da je vecina vas rekla “ne” na ovo pitanje. I ako ne bi ste ubili svog najboljeg prijatelja, svoje dijete, svog roditelja… razmislite… svi oni ljudi koji bivaju diskriminisani, vrijedjani, plaseni svaki dan, oni su necije dijete, roditelj, najbolji prijatelj. Oni su ljudi. I oni su nekad bili bebe.

Pustite ljude da zive. Neka imaju svoja prava.
