Sneaky Cat
Walking through town the other day I stumbled on a cat. A black cat. She must have been thinking she’s a tiger, too.
For when I started looking at her, the cat had been preparing to catch a bird! A whole bird! The bird was just hanging out on the ground hopping around, as birds do. The bird saw the cat, she did, but didn’t care. She was thinking “I have wings, dummy!”
The cat was a tiger. The cat didn’t care the bird can fly. “I’ll get it, I’ll get it, I will!”
Sneaking up on the bird, the cat thought she was close enough to catch the bird. In less than a second, the cat went for it and the bird was in the air. I laughed. I smiled. The cat looked around. I pretended I wasn’t looking. “Good, no one saw me miss that bird,” she must have thought. “I’ll get it next time.”
